What is Porcelain?

Porcelain is a high-density ceramic material fired at extreme temperatures, producing
a surface that is non-porous, exceptionally durable, and visually refined. Unlike
cheaper alternatives that are prone to cracking and inconsistency, SurfaceForge
porcelain slabs are manufactured to the highest standards, ensuring reliability in
design-critical applications.

  • For manual handling, use professional suction cups or rigid lifting frames for large slabs.
  • Two-person teams can safely handle slabs with proper tools.
  • Safe Handling Tasks Uncrate and position slabs for fabrication.
  • Place slabs on workbenches for cutting and prep.
  • Move slabs to installation areas with carts and suction systems.

Laying & Fixing

  • Subfloors must be rigid, stable, and level.
  • Clean and dry slabs before installation. Use high-performance adhesives designed for large-format porcelain.
  • Apply adhesive in parallel straight lines to prevent air pockets.
  • Back-butter slabs for full surface bonding.
  • Press slabs firmly with levelling systems to avoid lippage.
